Jay Ferguson has practiced law in North Carolina since 1990.
Throughout his career, Jay has been a staunch advocate for
people in need of help, whether they are victims of catastrophic
injury or wrongful death, landowners whose property is in
jeopardy of condemnation, or people accused of crimes.
He has successfully represented clients who have been involved
in serious automobile accidents and collisions involving commercial
trucks, from pre-trial negotiation and settlement or through
the trial and appeal process. Also, he has worked on behalf
of landowners to ensure that they received fair and just compensation
from the government for their property.
Jay received his law degree with honors from North Carolina
Central University in 1989 before obtaining a master’s
of law degree in litigation from Emory University in 1990.
He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and
the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is admitted
to practice in the courts of the State of North Carolina,
the United States District Court for the Middle and Eastern
Districts of North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit United States
Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
